Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (2024)

The best scooter of 2024 under €1000? In the center of the review is the Teverun Blade Mini Pro

NiuxTech's second scooter of the Teverun manufacturer this season, the Blade Mini Pro, becomes the star of today's review. In its category, located roughly in the middle between simple and powerful scooters, this is a scooter for those who like to overcome steep mountains, who want to ride comfortably and quickly, and for the purchase of up to €1000.

  • Closed shock absorbers do not require maintenance
  • Soft ride

I have been familiar with the Blade Mini Pro for more than a year - the first generation Blade Mini Pro is also a personal scooter with which I have already covered 1500 km. And while I think it's one of the better value for money scooters out there, I'm going to give an unbiased assessment of all the pros and cons in this review.

What's in the box?

The contents of the Teverun Blade Mini Pro box are fairly modest, but inside you will find everything you need for your first ride. The package includes a 54.6V 2A charger, user manual, two NFC cards and a multifunctional tool for tightening or loosening the scooter's screws.

Like most scooters, this scooter comes with the handlebars removed in the box, and once you take the scooter out, you attach it with a dedicated plate and four screws. After installing the steering wheel, all you have to do is inflate the tires and you are ready to go on your first trip.

First impressions and build quality

At first glance, this is a solid scooter. Its body is strong, the folding mechanism is of high quality, the TFT screen installed in the steering column looks modern and minimalistic. On the steering wheel you will find the standard Teverun lighting and single / dual engine and ECO / TURBO driving buttons, an index finger controlled speed lever with built-in four buttons for controlling the scooter.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (13)

Large, 10-inch tires and closed shock absorbers give the impression of a soft ride. The wires from the steering wheel are routed all the way down through the steering stem, and their open places are neatly wrapped with additional material.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (14)

The scooter's folding release mechanism is operated with one hand, and when locked, there is no movement or creaking during riding. When folded, the scooter is fixed in position with the help of a hook.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (15)

The dominant color of the Teverun Blade Mini Pro scooter is black, with yellow accents and details on the body, handlebars and parking platform. Surprisingly, the yellow color of the parking platform cover does not match the yellow of the scooter parts. And while the coating is easy and cheap enough to change, the majority of scooter users will probably never do it, and color discrepancies will remain visible.

Maximum speed and acceleration

With a fully charged scooter, we managed to reach a speed of 51 km/h on a smooth road with minimal wind, which is 4 km/h short of the manufacturer's declared speed of 55 km/h.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (17)

In fact, it is not difficult for this scooter to reach the maximum speed even on a rough road or a slight hill. The 23A sine wave controls on the scooter allow you to accelerate quickly enough without any jerks, and the speed control perfectly matches the ratio of push to power output.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (18)

2*500W vs 2*800W

The personal Teverun Blade Mini Pro scooter comes with 2* 800W motors, while the test scooter has 2* 500W. We also tested the difference in the race - with a weight difference of about 10 kg between the drivers. At 50 km/h, the more powerful scooter pulls ahead between 1-3 scooter lengths.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (19)

But this is not a car race where every second counts. The speed of the scooter tested on the road, bike path or sidewalk is more than enough for everyday use. You will find about the hills to be overcome and whether 2*500W power is enough for that - in the next paragraphs below.

Ride quality/comfort

Teverun Blade Mini Pro is a smooth riding scooter. It is true that the shock absorbers are not comparable to higher-class hydraulic shock absorbers, but the combination of these and relatively large tires is quite sufficient for city driving.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (21)

Small potholes between the pads are practically imperceptible, and larger potholes are gently absorbed without causing any additional wobbles or vibrations in the steering wheel, even when driving at the highest possible speed.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (22)

The standing platform is wide and everyone will find a comfortable place to stand. It is not recommended for safe driving, but it is also possible to place one foot next to the other. Rear "wing" (leg support) sturdy and comfortable to stand on.

Driving uphill

Želvos St., which is very steep at its top, was chosen for the drive up the mountain. With a fully charged battery, the Blade Mini Pro maintains a top speed of 25-27 km/h. Even with less than half the battery, the mountain is covered at an average speed of 20 km/h.

Battery and distance covered

According to the manufacturer, this scooter can cover up to 70 kilometers, but this is probably only possible under ideal conditions. With a fully charged battery, a weight of ~80 kg and maximum power settings, we managed to drive 42.43 km. With 30% battery remaining (around 46V), after turning towards home, the battery level started to drop sharply and managed to drive no more than 2 km.

This test was done without multiple charge cycles, so it is likely that the battery level display would be fine. Those who drive economically, switching to one engine and rolling downhill more often should be able to improve this distance by at least a few kilometers.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (28)

A fully discharged scooter took more than 12 hours to fully charge. After a few charging cycles, the battery and controls should balance better and charging and range should improve.

Disadvantages of the scooter

The Teverun Blade Mini Pro scooter does not have an IP rating, which means that riding in even light rain with this scooter is not recommended. However, the weather on the road can change at any time, so I had to ride in the rain myself. All wiring cavities in the body are sealed, but this scooter's worst enemy in the wet is its rear mudguard.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (30)

It consists of two parts, a larger one (same as the front) and a smaller one. The smaller part doesn't move to the bigger one, and as a result, there is a gap of several centimeters, during which all the dirt from the ground will end up on your pants, backpack and even your helmet - and it doesn't even need rain, just a wet road surface and a sufficiently low speed. The rear mudguard problem has existed since the first generation of this scooter.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (32)

The TFT display in the steering column is nice and informative, and it has a built-in NFC lock, which allows you to do away with an additional sensor on the steering wheel. However, its position does not allow a comfortable view of the current speed while driving, as it requires lowering the head. The brightness of the screen is relatively sufficient and it is visible on a sunny day, but I would like it to be a little brighter.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (33)

It will be much more difficult for those driving with polarized glasses to see the information. In the first generation of Teverun Blade Mini Pro, the Minimotors EY3 screen was more comfortable in its brightness and position.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (34)

Brake discs are another area that should be updated on all scooters from the factory. Don't get me wrong, the braking performance is great and the scooter stops quickly, but the problem is the squealing when braking.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (35)

After the first 50 kilometers, the screeching will not go away, even if you clean the pads and brake discs. I have replaced several brake pads with different components on my personal scooter, but only replacing the discs solved the problem.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (36)

For those driving in the dark on poorly lit roads, an additional front light should be considered. The light installed in the scooter is far too weak and shines at too narrow an angle for safe riding.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (37)

When riding the scooter with a heavier rider, the brake light hides under the rear mudguard and becomes practically invisible from a distance. But not everything is so bad - for the visibility of the scooter on the road, the orange lights on the steering column and parking platform are bright and provide safety on the road.

Verdict

After covering more than 130 km (and 1500+ km with the first generation model) Teverun Blade Mini Pro did not disappoint. An attractive design, a solid body, quality parts, a comfortable ride and a good price are most of the things we pay attention to when choosing a scooter for ourselves, and the Blade Mini Pro ticks most of these boxes.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (41)

This is already the 3rd generation of this scooter model and unfortunately the most annoying fundamental problems are still not fixed. There is no limit to perfection, but if the aforementioned problems are eliminated, the scooter would become perhaps the best in its price category. Although even now he is essentially a TOP1 choice up to €1000.

Teverun Blade Mini Pro 2024 - Review (42)

For those who have the opportunity to expand their budget to €1,500 and want more power, greater mileage and higher-class comfort, I would suggest paying attention to Teverun Fighter Mini Pro, which is equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers and has Smart BMS and APP control.

UPDATE: By the way, another model was recently released - Teverun Blade Mini ULTRA with 2*1000W motors and a 60V 27Ah battery, the price of which is also very tempting, only about €1050. I would say a very attractive option and it is likely to become the new king of scooters in this price segment.
